Stuffed Grilled Giant Squid anyone? Just in time to continue our newsletters on cooked items, we received this e-mail from one of our Facebook Friends:

"...and you know about "my greatest mistake". I was quickly checking off the sushi menu and attempting to order my favorite: squid salad. So I handed the menu back to the waitress and got back to the conversation at our table. The main sushi arrives and I forget about my squid salad. Halfway done with dinner and the waitress brings this huge thing (for a lack of a better word) to our table. I tell her she is mistaken and I didn't order such a thing. She shows me the menu I checked off and sure enough, I selected the Grilled Giant Squid, and not the Squid salad.

So there I am tentatively staring at something I thought was staring back at me. I pulled off one of the tentacles and it was absolutely delicious. I then found it was stuffed with a great melody of something. I devoured the whole thing, wonderful!"

What our friend had found was the "Grilled Giant Squid". This is a delicious entree (listed in the appetizer section) that will feed two at least! It is a large squid that has been grilled and stuffed with shrimp, vegetables and sauteed shiitake mushrooms.

Try it next time...goes great with a glass of read wine!. Remember that cooked items take longer to prepare, so allow some time for it to get to your table.

New appetizer: Jalapeno Yellowtail!! Our main sushi chef has prepared for us a new appetizer. It is six slices of high-quality yellowtail with a slice of jalapeno on each slice. It is served with cucumber and a citrusy Ponju Japanese sauce. It sells for $10.95
